What is the Google Cloud AI platform?

The Google Cloud AI platform is a comprehensive set of tools and services provided by Google Cloud to develop, deploy, and manage artificial intelligence and machine learning models. It allows developers to build and scale ML applications on Google Cloud's infrastructure.

Building blocks

The Google Cloud AI consists of the following building blocks.

Sight

This block includes AI services related to visuals.

  • Cloud vision: A service GCP provides that allows developers to integrate vision-related functionalities into their applications. It uses machine learning and computer vision techniques. You can perform vision-related tasks using cloud vision, such as object-tracking, image detection, facial recognition, etc.

  • Cloud video intelligence: This service extends the functions of cloud vision to videos. You can perform vision-related actions in videos, including generating video transcription.

  • AutoML vision: It is a specialized service that allows you to develop custom machine-learning models for image recognition actions without them being an expert in machine learning.

  • AutoML video intelligence: This extends the autoML vision to videos. Allowing you to create customized learning models for analyzing and processing your videos without expert machine-learning knowledge.

Language

GCP offers AI services related to language.

  • Cloud translation: This service provides you with the ability to use pre-built models to translate text into multiple languages. You can use this service to provide multi-lingual support to your clients.

  • Cloud natural language: It analyses the natural language text using machine learning algorithms. This allows you to extract useful information from the text, such as named entities, sentiment analysis, syntax analysis, etc.

  • AutoML translation: This service provides specialized features that allow you to use trained ML models and design your specific translation model for your particular language.

  • AutoML natural language: With this service, you can design your natural language processing model with help from the autoML service.

Conversation

This block includes conversation-related services.

  • Dialogflow: It allows you to build conversational interfaces like chatbots and virtual agents for their applications. It supports multiple messaging platforms to create interactive and dynamic conversational experiences.

  • Cloud speech-to-text: This service converts spoken language into words or text. It uses machine learning models to understand and transcribe speech into text.

  • Cloud text-to-speech: This service converts text into speech. You can choose the speed, language, and style for the output speech.

Structured data

The previous building blocks dealt with unstructured data such as videos, images, speech, etc. The following services deal with structured data.

  • AutoML tables: This service helps you build custom machine-learning models for structured data without expertise in machine-learning language. This simplifies the process of creating models for tabular data by automating processes.

  • Cloud inference API: This API will allow you to integrate your custom-trained model into applications easily by making predictions/inferences on new data.

  • Recommendation AI: It uses ML algorithms and data analytics to provide relevant and processed recommendations.
