How to find a Linux AMI using the Amazon EC2 console

Overview

Amazon Machine Image (AMI) is a Linux image provided by AWSAmazon Web Services that is specially designed to provide a high execution environment, stability, and security for the applications running on Amazon EC2Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud instances.

Let’s discuss the steps to find the AMI ID using the Amazon EC2 console.

  • Step 1: Click on this link to open the Amazon official site and click on the “Sign in to the Console” button located at the top-right corner of the website.

  • Step 2: You'll be redirected to the sign-in page where you'll enter the credentials such as the account ID, username, and password. Once you've filled in the required information, press the “Sign in” button to proceed.
